How To Create Financial Security For Life

In February 2019, I celebrated my first ever 5-figure month in my former coaching business, earning just over £11k in less than 4 weeks.

Prior to that month, my average monthly income had been less than £1500.

What caused my income to very suddenly shoot up 7-fold?

Had I found some fancy system or strategy to attract new clients on repeat?

No.

I had been on a 10-day silent meditation retreat, found inner peace, and simply shared my story with the small audience I had at the time in a way that was valuable to them.

I'd gone from being someone who was insecure in my value and doing what I thought I needed to do to make money in order to feel secure...

To someone who was already secure within myself and doing what I wanted to do to make a difference.

The result was 7 times more income within 1 month.

For as long as you believe that financial security comes from money, you will feel financially insecure no matter how much you earn.

At the end of the day, no source of income is EVER guaranteed:

  • Businesses fail (Kodak)

  • Innovative competition kills trade (Netflix/Blockbuster)

  • Banks collapse (Silicon Valley)

  • House prices plummet (2008)

  • Pandemics close doors (2020)

  • Instagram has the power to cut you off from your audience without warning

  • Your “secure” job could fire you at any time

So if you insist on sourcing your feelings of security from those insecure sources of income, you will wonder why you find yourself on a constant hamster wheel - not feeling financially secure nor creating the income you really desire, which then perpetuates the feelings of insecurity.

The only place where long-lasting financial security can be sourced is in you perceiving yourself as having value to offer to people.

Think of it this way: if you know you are able to help people in a way that is incredibly valuable to them - and nothing can make you question your belief in that value - would there be any need to ever worry about where money was going to come from?

After all, money is just the bi-product of exchanging value.

So how does one create this inner feeling of unquestionable financial security, independently of money?

Financial security is the result of you letting go of the conditions you think need to be met before you can let go of judgements about your value.

The reason why I emerged out of that meditation retreat in such peace was because I experienced a sudden moment where I thought to myself,

'I love who I am.'

Prior to the retreat, I felt insecure - not because I didn't have money - but because I was holding onto judgements about my value and worthiness to earn it, and waiting for external results to occur before choosing to release those judgements.

After the retreat, I was no longer thinking things like, 'When I have more clients I'll love myself', or 'When I have more money I'll be proud of myself' - I had just decided to love myself, regardless of my circumstances.

This is what created the feeling of security, which resulted in all my concerns about money being dropped (before anything in my life had changed), and that led to me just wanting to go out there and help people to experience the same kinda peace that I was feeling. And then more money than I'd ever made before appeared out of nowhere.

There is such a magic and a power to living this way - with complete unconditional self-love - that is really hard to imagine until you actually experience it.

But my experience post-retreat is a shining example of what is possible when you decide to drop the conditions you think need to be met before deciding to release self-judgement.

And the best part of this source of security is the fact that nothing and no-one can ever take it away from you.
